Carmo
Carmo began as a concept for a Portuguese tapas bar in Highland Park, Los Angeles. Drawing inspiration from Portugal's iconic tilework, the interior balances vibrant colors with cozy, modern sensibilities—creating an inviting space for families, young professionals, and food enthusiasts.
Our brand identity mirrors this warmth through a sophisticated palette of bold earth tones punctuated by bright accents, adding depth and dimension. The visual language incorporates organic, nature-inspired illustrations that reference traditional Portuguese tile patterns while feeling distinctly contemporary.
The emblem captures the essence of the name Carmo, meaning 'Garden of God.' It features a Thumbelina-esque, whimsical figure perched upon a carnation petal—an homage to Portugal's national flower and symbol of peace.
